Everyday Heroes | Kofta Curry Meatballs

Nothing tastes better than accomplished goal.

— Life is a Recipe

When I was younger, once in a while, I’d somehow find myself in front of the television with my grandma, watching a Bollywood movie. There always seemed to be a recurring theme where the heroine was being saved by the hero. I never really understood the “waiting for someone to save me” cliché. Even at a very young age I was independent and goal driven. My parents were very motivated, encouraging, and organized – which heavily influenced me. They always steered me to be my own heroine.

My parents taught me how to get in the driver seat and be intentional about life. One of the greatest tools and practices is “goal-directed scheduling.” I make sure to schedule based on my priorities. I teach my kids the same thing. I know I drive them insane but at some point, it will kick in. Goals can’t just be a thought. Just like in a relationship where words need action, goals need action to come to life. But how does one stick to their goals and dreams?

We need to map out or goals, identify them, prioritize and plan (MIPP). Just like when preparing a recipe, know what dish you’re making, what ingredients you need, and how to make it. And voila! Your vision comes to life!

Nothing tastes better than accomplished goal.

Life Recipe:
Everyday Heroes

  1. Always remember that you are full of potential and possibility.
  2. When I have a dream or goal, and I want to see it come to life, I try not to let it stay a dream. I try to take the first step and clarify my idea, and then map out my priorities and the steps it will take to get there.
  3. Lastly, I try to surround myself with people who nurture my dream. There’s nothing worse than being surrounded by dream killers. But a group of encouraging and knowledgeable friends can be the difference between failure and success.
